Mountain Chip

Postby mattdovey » Wed 29.12.2021, 18:57

Merry Christmas All,
As I understand it Mountain chips are no longer available. Before I go the time and expense of fitting an after market ECU. Does anybody have a Mountain chip they want to get rid of.

Regards,

Matt

Matt,

You might want to hold on a while - A little bird tells me there's some work going on in this area at the moment (Not by me I might add!)

I think a lot of us late to the Elan M100 party would be interested in this!

I am also in for a mountain chip should the become available.

Seems like the most well sorted and easiest route to 40HP

:) :)

I have a few 1499 USA - Federal Everest chips with adapter boards availble for $225.00 including USPS Priority Mail shipping to the USA.

I also have a few 9949 USA - California Everest chips & boards available for the same price.

I prefer communicating via email instead of using the PM system.

Please ask any questions to help deciding if this will work with your M100.

I will also ship to other countries but would need your address to calculate any additional shipping costs.

Payment via PayPal using the friends and family option or add $10.00 to the total.

Just an update...

The Everest Master program I have has somehow gotten "damaged (electronically)" and no longer works.

At this point, I can no longer offer an Everest upgrade prom.

I suggest anyone looking to buy one to try to contact Alan, but I don't think he wants to make any more

I'm SORRY,

JC

Coming late to the party I feel rather 'cheated'. I'm absolutely certain that this was an exceptional upgrade; indeed a no-brainer for us m100 owners, and originally supported by many satisfied 'muckers'.

For some reason the 'traces' have now been dropped and the air has now gone out of the balloon, but I'm equally certain that we have talented individuals within the forum that are absolutely capable of 'stepping up to the mark' and reproducing that excellent software in exactly the same way.

So, why isn't this happening? Is it a 'respect' thing, or did the Alan apply some sort of copyright? I'm thoroughly confused and desperate to join in the fun. And I don't think I'm alone :(...

Can someone in the know please put me (and a few others, I suspect) out of my misery?

I am confused - are there or are there not any chips remaining available?

tacogc I think most m100 enthusiasts came to the Mountain Chip party and left with their goodie bags; it was such a well-thought-out upgrade.

I can only presume that demand was 'sated' and enthusiasm fizzled out when the original manufacturer seemed to lock the door, turn off the lights and walk home(?)

Although not an expert, I expect the concept can be re-created. I've recently benefitted from a Moates-style open-loop-to-closed-loop enhancement from RonR that's had a huge effect on the regulation of my emissions and consequent significant improvement in fuel economy - so the essential building-blocks are there and it shouldn't be too many steps forward to re-create, or even improve upon, the original Mountain Chip 'magic' that became the by-word for safe and reliable m100 enhancement.

ps As an aside, I've also seen the odd advert for used/liberated Mountain-chipped ecus that demand silly prices due to rarity status. Recent SE/S2 wheel adverts have also seemed to be another example that support 'silly' (imo)...
