I sorted out the timing on the red one and took her for a run. She ran beautifully and we stopped for a cup of tea. When I restarted her she was very lumpy, what I knew as two stroking years ago. Certainly not firing on all cylinders. And the oil pressure dropped alarmingly.
I nursed her home.
I disliked all the go-faster kit, dumpvalve etc and so I took it all off and returned her to stock, including putting her original air filter back on.
I also changed the fuel filter and replaced the plugs. I found the neg terminal on the battery was done up tight but it was not gripping the battery lug, so I fettled that.
Took her out today and she was fabulous. No hissing or burping from the dump valve, boost coming in at higher revs in 2nd and third, absolutely spot on.
Parked her at home for an hour and went to take her out again. Back to her old trick of two stroking, not firing on all cylinders and oil pressure down.
Any ideas please?
I must say that whilst she is low miles, 58000, she has not been looked after well. Where trim has been removed it has never been refitted with screws and fir tree fittings. And today I took the driver's seat out to make the seat belt more accessible and found the spacers were not fitted correctly nor the shouldered washers .
Rant over
