Advise on Engine block head skimmed - need replacement

Hi All
I recently sent my Lotus Elan Turbo M100 91 model for blown head gasket. The workshop told me that the engine head has been skimmed before and there's some corrosion so it will need to be replaced. As it will likely take time and cost
to ship the engine block(assuming I can find one). Would appreciate any advise if there's an equivalent Isuzu model engine or the car that shares this same engine that I can at least try to source locally? I will concurrently check ebay and perhaps some UK Lotus spares parts companies to see if they have this item. So if anyone know where I can get hold of one too with any UK companies would appreciate letting me know. Thank you.

It would help if you added your location to your profile - it will save having to state where you are each time. You may even find that someone else who is close to you spots it and offers assistance.

Click on "User Control Panel" at the top of the page, then the "Profile" tab, and then in the "Edit profile" window put it in "Location" and click "Submit".
After that nobody will ever be forced to rely on their memory or have to ask again.
It will simply appear under the number of posts and joined date.

Are you looking for a replacement cylinder head or a replacement cylinder block. They are completely different items. The cylinder head is unique to the Lotus although you can use an Isuzu Impulse 1991 cylinder head but need to modify the oil system to allow the hydraulic lifters. The Isuzu head has mechanical lifters.

The cylinder block is has to be from a TURBO model if you want to use it with the Turbo cylinder head as the oiling system is different.

Since your original post sounds like you need to clean up the cylinder head and not the block, you could get the head machined and use a custom multi-layer Steel head gasket to get the head to block spacing correct. I believe IsuzuZone had those gaskets available. If you search on multi layer steel, you will get more information.

It is best if you re-state your issue and what you are looking for. It seems that you went through this entire issue a few years ago...

Yes sorry, I meant the cylinder head NOT the cylinder block. We do not have the Impulse model here in Singapore so I will have to purchase the Turbo model cylinder head. The current head has been skimmed before I was told by the workshop that they can't use it anymore. If any of you guys happens to have a good cylinder head to offload and able to ship to Singapore do let me know. Thank you very much. Cheers
