ECU identification

Hi, I am new to this site as am new to the Elan M100. I have recently bought an SE Turbo June 1990 model, knowing that the car has an overboost problem. In fact the car seems to stop revving beyond 4000rpm. The car has changed owners several times, and am trying first to identify the ECU, weather the chip is stock or if it may have been changed. I did find some security label on ECU which have been cut, indicating it has been opened at some point. The following is what I found when I opened the ECU, anyone can help identify this please?

Welcome to LEC. That looks like a stock Memcal. Check out ESM's website for more information.

If you're hitting the ~4000RPM limit (and especially if boost is high and the CEL light is coming on), it sounds like the wastegate is stuck open. Read the Wiki for information on how to release it.

The "9939" marked on the outer case suggests it is the correct ECM for a standard, turbo SE.
The memcal is marked ANZX which is consistent with the 9939 marks.

It would not be useful for a US/FED or S2 engine as it doesn't support an O2 sensor.

There is no secondary chip kit in the picture, so it hasn't been upgraded with a Mountain Chips kit.

Thanks guys. I would try out the wastegate thing. At least I can start by knowing that the ECU is stock.

Done Fredjohn, allow me to introduce, am from Malta, just imported a 1990 Calypso Red SE Turbo, a childhood dream to own a Lotus (Chapman was still alive), paid for by midlife crises fund! I recon this must be the 4th M100 on the island, Isuzu Piazza never came in here either so not much people know about this engine here. Been working on my cars all driving life, so LEC will be my source of reference. Sorry for taking away one from you, but it is for a good cause.
