How to get started

Postby Specky » Sun 30.03.2008, 01:47

I have one lap top...

I have one usb lead...

I've just looked at 70 0dd threads, read the Wiki... and now I'm more confused than when I started...

We could do with a sticky or a Wiki thread...

First question... Which progam do I need.. Elanscan beta or Elanscan...

I'm using the beta one, and it's fine

Are you OK with locating the connector? There's a good YouTube vid for the Engine Check Light here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2SjckSxjOk

The biggest problem I had with getting ES working was using the wrong drivers, and not being able to see the connection in Device Manager, right drivers soon sorted that out though. Will edit with the link

Here's the drivers I used: http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm

And the link to my thread trying to get it working: http://lotuselancentral.com/forum/viewt ... ht=#138128

Its a pity you missed out at Donington, as Geoff's son sorted out my problems with Elanscan and USB connection.

Watch out Geoff, your son is likely to take over from you, as he is a STAR!
