Fault resets

Does anybody know if there is any way to send fault reset commands to the ecu from elanscan or other software?

Why not just disconnect the battery for a while, won't that reset it all?

Yes it would or disconnect the ecu but I figured that it might be easier to do it from the software if possible.
It's more of a convienience thing more than anything, it might be handy if you were proving fault conditions and wanted to force a condition then reset it more than once. Disconnecting the battery every time is a bit of a pain.

I believe reset faults is a function of the original Tech1 tester and is a procedure referred to in the workshop manual.

Just a thought, no biggie.

If a fualt is fixed or is a one off glitch it will be dropped from the ECU after the igniton has been switched on and off 50 times. Probably easier to just disconnect the battery if you are looking to monitor for a fault
