I was wondering if the Elanscan lead will fit the Esprit and if the software itself is compatible. Just thinking out loud...

I recall many years ago that the circuit that I tried to build was from a site by Andrew Whittacker and some software for the esprit called freescan. (or something like that)
So the lead may work but the software probably won't.

As Simon says, the hardware is good but you need
Freescan.

There is also Espritmon. I don't know which one is best.
