Just checked drivers & I'm using the FTDI VCP drivers, so using the Holmes method of elimination of the B. obvious it must be a com port issue.

Checked the FTDI site again [http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm] and 1st line reads "VCP Drivers: Virtual COM port (VCP) drivers cause the USB device to appear as an additional COM port available to the PC. Application software can access the USB device in the same way as it would access a standard COM port" ... so maybe there's a hint here.

Wooohooo! ElanScan_Beta (0.10.12.71) + there's only on f in Geof Smith's ALDL Interface + http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm + WinXP + com ports set to COM1 and BINGO!

Fault: Oxygen Sensor Lean.

ALDL & Jumper (paper clip method) to confirm.... fault code 44 Lean exhaust.

All I need now is what to do to fix the problem!

Big thanks to everyone (oh, and I solved the problem of S2 boot (trunk) entry - details TBA on that one).

Please keep this to PM. In the interests of security, we don't want this sort of information available to the general public.

Beat you to it Rip - in the hands of LEC staff yesterday! No intention of open publishing the info, hence the TBA.

I don't know the procedure anyway. I know I can get it PMd to me if I ask though.

I have 3 boot keys, so will hopefully never need to know.
