I'm trying to cajole Darren into bringing your manifold with him to CC this coming w/e.

How do you fancy some telephone Elanscan-problem diagnostic help. I have the engine running, but it's searching and running erratically with an engine warning light on. Main problem is that Elanscan doesn't want to talk to the car anymore (it's never given me any problems before) - I suspect a porting problem but, it's a computer thing... :oops:

Do you get anything with the paperclip? This would rule out an ECU issue.

Other than that are you connected via serial or usb?

If you are still stuck then I'll help you as much as I can. Have you got my mobile no?

Paperclip showed no codes but resetting the ECU and checking all sensor connections (and finding/securing the second earth cable at the throttle body intake) has now got the car running properly, thanks Ailwyn.

If the car passes MOT on Friday (which, knowing my recent run of luck, it won't) I intend to take laptop and interface(s) to CC and pin Geoff to the floor until it works again.

Only then, will he get his manifold.

P.S. He doesn't know about my plan... ;-)

I have a problem with my Elan!!!
For analysing the Problem i would like to have a ALDL interface to use elanscan measuring the sensors if working properly!!!
My Laptop only have USB!
How can I order one and how should i be able to pay??
How long would it take to get one?
We dont have Paypal here! Does VISA work, or Banktransfer?
Please help!!! We have fine Elan-weather here in Germany (This is very rare, in Rain-many)
