Hello all,
I was going to swap the mem-cal units over but i noticed that the Isuzu unit is missing pin 66 from the connector (bottom row of pins, extreme left) as you look down at it. This being the case i chickened out and just fitted the complete Isuzu ECU.
I connected the battery.
I switched on the ignition.
I waited for the explosion (there was none.)
The fuel pump started running.
The CEL illuminated.
I turned the key and : It started immediately and now appears to run properly ie no stalling, flat spots and settles down to a proper idle when warm. I can hardly believe that it may be fixed. It hasn`t run properly for 2 years!!!!! I am very pleased. However, i haven`t driven it yet as i have to adjust the rear wheel bearings for MOT Tuesday.
Do you think i should swap the mem-cal units? I am just referring the the abscence of pin 66.
Right, back on topic. ElanScan still does not work, i attempted a PROM dump and got the message 5 CONSECUTIVE COMMAND 2 FAILURES.
So in summary, My Elan is now possibly fixed thanks to Enright, but ElanScan, as Grant has confirmed, still dosen`t work on N/A`s.
