I should have USB interfaces by the weekend and I have a spare USB to serial converter (although Dermot had problems with his so I wanted to try it out before sending it out). Do you want me to put one in with the manifold?

Yep I did PM you about the elanscan cables, but don't recall getting a reply

Hopefully, my manifold, etc will arrive in the post today or tomorrow

Can you supply me with an interface too please? USB if possible although I'll check my other laptop later today so maybe able to take a serial port one if it makes things easier. Just let me know where to pay money etc.

Andy - I've struggled with the USB to serial converter! My old laptop is knackered so I was trying to run it via the 10m ALDL extension lead I've been using for proving the USB interfaces but it wasn't playing ball. I'll try and pinch one of the kids' laptops to make sure everything is OK so if you e-mail me your address, I'll let you know.

I have almost cloned ElanScan in LabVIEW and I believe it can be compiled for Macs.

The good news is...... Yes it can compiled for Macs.
The bad news is....... It is not part of the Windows install and costs £900.

Oh well, plan Z coming up.

I'm completely out of interfaces - I couldn't even do a quick first-time-out-of-the-garage-in-a-long-time check on mine yesterday!

I'm going to have to order up some hardware and I'd prefer not to have too many lying around for ages, so please let me know if you are after one.

This would be awesome for my new Transformer! Seriously, I could really do with Elanscan on my laptop/pad for mobile analysis & data recording.

Nattie got hers (sorry I didn't have time to stop and talk and I didn't see you later in the day - if you've got any questions or problems, please get in touch) but 3 more were snapped up so I'm down to one again. I'm likely to be very busy this week so I'll get some more made up next weekend. I'm also going to make a special one for myself and chain it to the car - I set out to make one for myself 5 years ago but they've all ended up with someone else! Anyone else while I'm about it?

You'll need to check the ECU Steve. Lotus used a GM one to develop their own mappings. I'm not sure what Isuzu use.

It's a GM ECU and all the pin outs are the same between the 2 cars. The ALDL is
a little differant though, only 3 pins on the Isuzu..

Hello, I bought a "serial to USB" interface here but Elanscan does not connect to the laptop.
maybe I have to do some special setting? i matched the COM port but with no success..

Ratman, sorry for the late reply as I've only just noticed your post. Sorry, I can't remember if I sent you one but is yours an FTDI interface like the one below? If it is then by following the installation instructions and most importantly setting the latency to 1ms there shouldn't be a problem.



If it is not this type then it is unlikely to work (believe me, both ESM and I have tried several) as they buffer the data too much.
