Matt, have you gone closed loop since you last posted ES data?

Apart from stored CAS and EST errors, I can't see too much wrong. The EST error is probably as a result of the CAS problem as the manuals say work on the lowest code first. What are/were your symptoms?

This looks like an S2 with a standard map in it?
You've 300 faults stored and they're: EST Monitor Error (EST = Electronic Spark Timing) and CAS fault. NOTE that no faults were added during the run you posted so these could be historic faults.
There are 2 knock events at 33.3 - 34.9secs and another later on. No timing retard was applied at any of the events. All 3 knock events ocurred at 98%+ throttle. I wouldn't be too bothered about them
Other than the above I can't see much wrong with the scan but others with more experience may have other ideas.

guys your ace, geoff your right i bought an S2 since you looked over my last scan, sorry for some reason i just assumed everyone was watching my project thread. my project thread

in a nut shell the fault im getting is a momentry loss of power while under medium heavy load followed by what id call lumpy running, couldnt get it to happen during the scan run but it did come on today while crawling around morrisons car park so i guess its not load related. will try to post up a scan with the symptoms included.

i did a little reading on the est and am i right in thinking i should check the gap on the cas? or am i barking up the wrong tree. glad theres not much else to worry about.

thanks again

HA! :-D Too bloody busy at work to keep up with everything - nice... Azure blue :smt016

The ECU calculates the timing of the spark, so if the CAS pulses are missing or incorrect, the EST error could be flagged as well. I think you need to check the base timing and it would do no harm to change the HES in the CAS.

So you've now got an SE & S2? If so, have you tried swapping the CAS over?

ha yeh still got the se, its going to be a long term project ground up rebuild with a few choice tweeks, or so im hoping. currently the count is 2 se's one S2 and chassis and engine.
always loved azure, realy wanted magnolia leather but decided to go for a good genuine car rather than be too picky over the spec.

got to replace the alternator belt, still not sure on checking the timing, might see if i can get a friend to hold my hand. I could swap the cas's over ive got a spare from the brg. but id proberly balls something up. ive got a Hall sensor waiting to go in, didnt even think about that :?

thanks again to all, dont know what id do without you. :D

Setting base timing is easy & swapping over a CAS should be no more involved han swapping out a distributor.
