Elan scan cable etc

I am looking for a cable for Elan scan to my laptop thought I'd got one but it hasn't arrived I know nothing about it and could do with a tutorial of some sort or idiots guide. I am trying to get my Elan running sweetly it does run but idles higher than it should some times as if the choke is stuck on Can anyone help with the cable and elanscan or the running of the car.

Have you not seen the footer on one of geoffsmith's postings?
He seems to spend most of his life making up Elanscan cables.

If you are going to Donington, you will definitely be able to hav a chat about understanding ES data.
If not, once you have ES up & running, capture some data, zip up the log file & post it on here.

Sorry it took me a whils to get back to you I use an I phone most of the time only getting back to the PC every few weeks. I will check out the thread you are suggesting. I won't be at Donington some 600+ MILES between me and there. Local help will probably be at least 100+ miles away I would reckon. Will go and check out now thanks

Geoff that would be appreciated just got car going again got some of bob's gearchange cables and. Quickshift seems good have registered car on Se reg seems as if it's an unknown one trimming it up andwant to set it up spot on and Elan scan seems to be essential so a cable would be a great asset whether I'll manage to use it is a different matter but need to try my details I will pm to you
