Hi,

Have got some results out of my car now.

Would love to compare to others to try and understand something of what they mean.....

I have seen posts that allude to an area on here that has some results posted from other cars, but I cannot find it! Does it still exist or have a I been looking in the wrong place??

just zip up your .ecu files and post them as attachments. The old site had an area dedicated to this but in the new order posting attachments is probably the best way. I'm sure others will follow if you start it off.

well, here it is.

This is the first run I did with Elan scan, just a quick down the road and back. Would be interested to know any comments from anyone glancing over it, and also to anyone else scan to compare too.

Just a quick graph from some the data on the first run I did. Had a quick run 0-60mph. Not trying to beat any records but not hanging around!!

First thing I can see (which I already knew!) is that I come off the throtle too mcuh when changing gear!!!! :roll:

Those graphs really look nice

Almost reminds me of the day of looking at three graphs of the first, second, and third derivative of distance vs time, not the same, but these graphs are easy to read.

An Excel file of the same run.

The Excel file is straight forward.... I've used part of it to pose a question on here

I’m trying to get to grips with opening and viewing logs posted on the forum and converting them to Excel.

If I download one from the forum I’m asked if I want to open it... yes...it downloads... click to open the file after its downloaded... the ElanScan software opens but with no data... it says 'No Data' in the top left.

What do I need to do to see the information and to convert it to an Excel file?

I’m wanting to find a chipped engine run showing the time from 60 to 70mph in 3rd at 100% throttle.

Ray,

As far as I know, ES doesn't have DDE capability, so you can't open a .ecu file by double clicking or directly after downloading. You need to save the downloaded file and you can then open it from within ES - File|Open|... or <CTRL>&O. You can then export to Excel format. BTW .ecu format is the best format for saving raw data because you can load it into ES and export to Excel if you want.

I did write a macro for Excel to read in .ecu files - I'll see if I can find it but it might have gone when my HDD died.

It worked first time... I just need to find a chipped scan with a 60 to 70 element in 3rd, among the ones downloaded onto the forum.

Does the scan1.rar on here need a different aproach to open it, mine seems only to accept .ecu files

Rars are compressed files similar to Zips. You'll need one of these!
