TECH 1/1A

Postby Dave S M100 » Tue 03.10.2006, 12:55

Guys,

I'm new to this site and didn't see much about info on the TECH 1 or 1A. I have a Tech 1A unit and the module for the Fed Elan and it works great.
I have both a FED Elan and a N/A Elan (non turbo). The Tech 1 does not work on the N/A and I have been unable to find out if there is a different module for the N/A, if so where to get one. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Dave

Hi there,

I am having the same problem. My N/A won`t talk to my laptop using a known good cable. The opinion is that the ECU may be subtly different.

My good friend Geoff is still trying to help me get it working.

Regards

Dave & Oliver

This could be the missing link.

If a dedicated piece of diagnostic equipment like the Tech 1 doesn't work on the N/A using the Turbo software then it's not surprising that Elanscan-equipped laptops won't work either.

Dave,

What a timely post, you're an absolute star.

Oliver has been having trouble with running ElanScan, a program developed by Alan (ESM or ElanScanMan as he is known here) and interface built by me with his N/A. You have just confirmed what I had begun to suspect, that the N/A is not compatible with the SE format ALDL.

I don't know if I can help you at the moment on the Tech 1 problem, but I now know where to start looking to try and decipher the N/A format for ElanScan. Once I have done that, I'd be interested to see if I can find any information on the Tech 1 and see if there is an easy solution (but it might be easier for you to use N/A ElanScan).

Geoff
