I'll be dynoing my car shortly on a Mustang Chassis dyno, again, with some new minor modifications.
Everest V5 Code
New Oversized Intercooler
Slightly revised 2.5" "Fart Pipe" exhaust
My car is nothing like it was when I bought it thats for sure, with relatively light lower-cost modifications. The reliability hasn't been compromised, so far, either :).
The car might have actually sold well had Lotus beefed up the output a bit from the factory as many of us are. I made a minor group of modifications to my Esprit V8 as well that made a substantial increase in output (338 rwhp) without increasing boost. I'm sure there are reasons Lotus didn't make these changes, but I can't find a good reason not to.
Short answer to your question: Spend the little bit of money and buy the new program for your car from ESM. The car is a different beast when reprogrammed. I think that a bit of exhaust revisions are in order if your car has a precat though just FYI.
