i need to know how to read the fault codes using a snap on scanner, i have opel/vauxhall software but cant find a model to match. ie gsi corsa. it may be the map sencor causing the problem as it intermiting more off than on, engine light on and off, not reving over 3000 rpm. nearly like it is on the rev limiter, but rougher and even seems like fuel starvation.

You don't need anything as technical as a Snap-On scanner to read Elan fault codes. All you need is a paper clip!

You're unlikely to either - the configuration settings are unique to the turbo and non-turbo Elans.

I agree with Geoff. Paperclip test and your 99% of the way there. No clever trickery needed.

If you want clever trickery, then don't go down the Tech 1 scanner or other make of scanner route. Follow the ELANSCAN route as it is much better!

thanks for all the help. idid the job on the hall sencor and read the fault codes. it said the temp sencor was faulty.new one coming saturday hope this will fix my problem as i have a track day on monday thanks again
