I have just hooked up my Elan Scan up.
I went for a run and the Results
HP 159.915
boost 0.75757
RPM 5000
This sort of power looks like a Standard car to me.
My car is supposed to be fitted with a Lakeside Lotus magic box and has paper work saying it is 205bhp.
The max boost seen was 0.75757
but the dash mounted gauge is over the top all the time.
How accurate is HP reading on the Elan Scan?

I agree with you on the Dyno run
I was just checking out the Elan Scan.
Was meant to go on the Dyno last week but didnt make it.

Most, if not all, Dyno's use a general factor for transmission loss, circa 20%, and calculate back to give power at the crank.
I think Elanscan gives power at the wheels, calculated from time, mass and speed, with no factor applied to get back to crank power.
No doubt ESM will be along soon to shoot me down in flames

Dave's quite right, ES calculates the power based on speed change, time taken for change and an estimate of kerb weight so the result is 'at the wheels' power. The speed reading from the ECU is kind of noisy and so the results are pretty approximate its only good as a rough indication.
It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but it doesn't take any to sit on your arse with a blank look on your face.

I had a bad weekend. Had my wallet stolen with all my cards and £600 cash.
I dont really feel that you should be so Insulting to me. A MAKEM indeed. I can also tell you that I was robbed by NUFC again £482 for season ticket.

I have had a pal look at my Elanscan information.
He says my fueling is good but there is more power to come from the engine as my spark retadation was on 10% and he says the it could be altered to nearer say 45% and this will release more power.
He asked me to ask if the Mountain chips are programmable.
He is a software guy and is a partner in Racingline at Halifax. So we would be setting my car up on their rolling road.
