I really need to check out my ECU. Is there a kind soul within 50 miles of Stafford who would be prepared to stick my ECU into their car to see if it performs normally or not? (I will bring it over)
I'm no expert on this but I can't think of it doing any damage, if there is risk of it damaging some engine sensors then can anyone who has knowledge of this please post a reply.
I can't think of any other way of testing it out, I have tried to loan one but not been successful as yet.
Is there any other way of proving this unit to be in working order?

Hi,
I'm in Worcestershire. I work in Evesham and live West of Worcester. If you want to try the ECU in my SE I shall be happy to help.

Have a word with South West Lotus (Phil), they sell them for £100 at Donington and Stoneleigh.
I can't remember their exact spec but I think IIRC we ascertained that they're alright for SEs.

FIXED IT
Cleaned all the "pins" on the ECU connector with a emmery board, you know those things the girlies use to sharpen their nails.........lol
Put ECU back on the car and fault gone, car drives like a gud un!
I had used WD40 some weeks back on the pins thinking that might clean/sort out any poor connections. Seems I was wrong, they needed a good scrape.
Thanx again to Niall for his help in locating the fault to the ECU.
