Yes Nick.
I swapped the bulkhead-mounted control unit - eventually.
Its the square black box behind and to the left (as you look at it) of the header tank with a four wire plug and a five wire plug going into/out of it.
I would check the connectors on the plugs first and give them a wiggle if it happens again.
Then try rapping the front of the unit sharply (that worked in an emergency for me), but don't use your knuckles as there's a rough area on the front-centre of the unit.
When it finally gives up...exchange it.

Thanks Sy I'll give it a go at the week end.
Are the control units expensive to replace?
cheers

I have no time to check now but I think they're between £45-70.

i am not exactly sure we have the same problem. but to start with the situation was similar. what i did was to turn the knob in the bonnet to manually raise the pod that still remained down. thereafter, i turned it off and on again ..only this time, it raised halfway. No i have not solved this problem yet cause i am currently doing the ICE, some custom interior switches and alarm....but will get to that after these are resolved over the next few days. Of course would be happy if anyone gets to it earlier than i do! cheers.
at last...
