fuse box diagram, whish one is the radio?

I have just recently bought my elan with no radio installed. I tried plugging mine in but after testing it there is no power supply to it. I guess the guy before took the fuse out since the wires were simply pushed back behind the dashboard. Question is which fuse do i need to replace and with what size fuse.

The 10 amp radio fuse is behind the passenger side rear speaker.Easy to get at but a swine to put the rear speaker grill back in place afterwards.

so its not in the fuse box in the passenger side footwell then. I dont have any rear speakers, just a passenger side and a drivers side. Im going to go and have a look now though quickly

Have a look at page 52 of the owner's hanbook. It seems to point to fuse 1 (5A) in the battery compartment.

There is also another fuse - position 8 (3A) in the main fusebox on the passenger door hinge post that may be worth trying although the manual says "radio relay logic (USA)"

I have got the manuals now and like you say it mentions radio relay logic USA under fuse 8 so not sure what to do. I am not an electrical boffin so dont want to go sticking a fuse in and end up blowing something else. Besides isnt 3A a little small, i have read references to both 5A and 10A.

edit, forgot to mention but there is no page 52 on the download handbook, there seem to be a lot of pages missing, so have yet to look in the battey compartment 5A fuse

Hi Sy, sorry, i didnt mean it to sound like the downloads were no good. Im very impressed with how much infor there was and i was expecting to have to pay for it all.

I have a handbook at home so will check it when i get home but from flicking through it briefly when i bought the car a couple of weeks ago, the info in there was very limited.

I have just had a look in the battery compartment and found the fuse box mentioned. THere are 4 sockets and if looking from the back of the car to the front they are

blank blank 10A 5A

Does this mean anything to anyone

The fuses indicated are mounted laterally on both RHD (in the battery compartment) & LHD cars (in the RHS speaker compartment), whereas you seem to be saying that you have found your USA ones mounted axially and in the Battery compartment - strange.

The radio is 5A, the electric antenna is 7.5A, and as you say two slots are vacant (for one of these new-fangled trendy car-phone things).

Just looked at pg 52 on that link and found the fuses in the battery compartment. It seems i have a 5A fuse already in the radio one and a 10A (instead of 7.5A) in the arial. So i guess the first job is to check that these havent blown.

Will i still need to put a fuse in slot 8 in the main fuse box in the passenger footwell.
