Hi,
My elan has been tucked up in the garage for 10 weeks, when I got it out this morning, and finally got it started, I found a problem with the indicators.
When I put the hazard lights on, all works fine, all 6 indicators flash away and the light on the hazards switch flashes too.
When I try either of the indicators using the stick on the steeting column all 6 indicators flash away and the light on the hazards switch flashes too. The indicator light on the dash does not illuminate at all (I have very hazy recall but I'm sure there is one!)
I have read the other threads regarding indicators/hazards and the main cause of problems seems to be the relay or wiring issues, but these seem to result in lights not working, where I have too many going.
Does anyone have any ideas of what the problem/solution might be?
Thanks
Ailwyn

My best bed is that it's a jamed flasher relay sending the current backward into the hazard relay.
Try taking the flasher relay out. If hazards stop flashing when you turn on the indicator, you might have found the problem.

Thanks for the advice Delta.
I went out today with the determination to sort the problem (or give up crying) and lo and behold, the damn things are working as they should!
As everything seemed ok I left it alone as I need the car tomorrow and couldn't afford to risk any further problems.
Would it be adviseable to get the relays replaced as a preventative measure?
Thanks
Ailwyn
