Misted up rear light cluster?

A few months ago I removed my rear light cluster to clean the inside of the glass.

Since then the nearside one mists up, I took it appart again and cleaned it the other day and there was a considerable amount of condensation in there.

I am sure it is condensation and not a leak.

My question is, should I try and botch some sort of seal, (and if so, any ideas?), OR, would an airtight cluster be even worse?
(I remeber reading somewhere that the 'fix' for misted up guages is to drill a tiny hole in the glass).

Any help on this subject would be most appreciated.

it's not the glass but the side of the gauge you would drill (just in case you're holding a drill right now)

for the lights I would think you need them hermetically sealed to repel the water vapours -- any leak will trap the vapor and it will condense.

I have not fiddled with the light units myself though so can't give any experience there -- there are a few people with experience there so hopefully they will respond.

Thanks for that Doug, I didnt have the drill in my hand, but I will remember that in the future in case the urge ever takes me that way!

Just for anyone that might have the same problem and are therefore following this thread, I have tried a botch;

I have sealed the light back up with silicon sealant (as used in the bathroom).

I did this yesterday and i am thrilled to report that it was not misted up this morning.

Because I appreciate it will be a case of 'time will tell', I will report back with a further update in a week or so.
