Is showing half boost even on tickover, and when the turbo actually does kick in, it goes off the scale.
I presume that it is the gauge and not the turbo itself. Dodgy earth ??
Any pointers what to try?

Must have a loose wire, cause we certainly didn't get any boost on way to Dony, never went over 70mph !

Gary - the screws (that hold the earth lead) go into those nut things with the rubber around them that squash up as you tighten. Mine just kept spinning but wouldn't tighten. Gerald put a new one in the post for me - he keeps a stock!

It has stopped snowing now, so took it for a run.
Gauge now sits at 1/4 and goes up to 3/4 which is still not quite right, but better than it was.

Mine did the same after I took the transducer off to clean it all up. My post is a little below this one on the list now. Mine was still a little 'off' when I fixed it so I took it all apart again and really cleaned the connectors up (especially the earth) with duraglit and the dremeland replaced the fixings with nice shiny new ones and really tightened it up on putting it back. Absolutely spot on now.
