Come in number 34 your time is up!! Help needed on code 34

After finally doing the paper clip test on my elan, the Code 34 appeared to me in shining lights....very informative but haven't a clue what it means.......Anyone any ideas.....engine is misfiring slightly and smelling like its burning too much fuel (is the mixture is upset!!)

I did see a coolant temperature sensor post on another forum but cannot find it again.....Please help....

Check your original thread and follow the link - you'll find that Code 34 is "Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor (Low voltage / High vacuum)". As a first guess, I'd suggest you check that the MAP connections are good - if it's gone open circuit then it would probably give you this error. If there is nothing obvious, then check down your original thread and give Sy a ring as an ElanScan run will report exactly what the MAP is doing.

just thought i would update this thread

i wiggled a few wires about under the bonet and behind the glove box and all is fine now, no misfires at all and the engine management light has gone off - must of been a loose connection!
bit of an odd fix but i aint complaining!!
