Fuses are ok, harzards work ok (but now without the dashboard light), all other lights work, but the indicaters and dashboard light don't work when the switch is operated.

Can anybody suggest what to look into?

are you sure the bulbs themselves work? because a blown bulb will mess up the dash light.

Check out page 15 of the Electrical Manual circuit diagram:

The dash light relies on LH indicators being on and RH being off (and vice versa) so shouldn't operate with the hazards!

The indicators get a switched 12V supply via the hazard warning switch, flasher unit and column switch. The switched supply also feeds the reversing lights, so if they're off, it's probably fuse number A16 (10A), otherwise it's likely to be wiring or hazard warning switch.

I've just discovered exactly the same problem on my car today. I have checked all of the fuses and they are fine, the hazards still work but my reverse lights are not working.

Andy, you mention the hazard warning switch or faulty wiring. Is there any way of checking which one could be at fault without getting a new switch???

I have just had another look at my fuses and after isolating the right fuse i changed it and found that they now work. To look at the fuse it does not look like it has blown but on real close examination there is the slightest of gaps.

Never trust visual inspection where fuses (and lights) are concerned - if you haven't got a meter/buzzer, then try it in place of a similar one to prove it works.

BTW, was it fuse number A16?

I got in the car on Sunday all set to spend the afternoon trying to sort out the problem, but they worked fine!! I'll check for anything obvious when I have some more time, and keep my fingers crossed for now.
