Satelite delay on Pop-ups

My pop-ups take about quarter of on hour before they decide to open. Is this the relay?

Where is the pop-ups relay situated?

Hello,

Do you hear a whole lot of whirring before the pods appear? or have you already rebuilt the lightpod motors and have confirmed it is the relay?

From memory the relay is fixed to the firewall/bulkhead, looks like a small blck box with wires coming from it and is from a late eighties Pontiac Fiero, but make sure it isn't a pod issue first!

well, to be fair mate, it's easier and cheaper to change a relay than a motor, so I thought I'd rule the relay out first, rather than do the motor first.

He's saying that the pod lift motors fail on the gears within them frequently and are easy to rebuild yourself -- however these give noise and should not cause such a delay as you state and usually only affect one side at a time!

The pod control module is on the engine side of the firewall and could be damaged/bad -- give it a thump and then check the electrical connections to be sure they are not with corrosion -- that could be all it needs is some jiggling and plug-in and out to get the connections working to do the trick.

You were spot on Doug, it turned out to be the connections to the pod module. Thankfully the module itself is OK, and now the lights are working fine again
