light not rising

Hi all, one of my light units fails to pop up, but makes a noise as if its trying to, it will rise with a helping hand...any advise. A new motor or advise on parts needed pls. Or is this just 'Lotus' ownership at best !!

After obtaining the necessary bits from RODNEY DICKMAN in America
a replacement metal gear and the three small bushes.I printed a copy of
the fix off L E C which may I say was extremely useful.
I set about doing the fix and it was all relatively easy and would have been fixed within the hour if it wasnt for the problems I experienced removing the inner wing valance.
All the small pins were totally siezed and whoever decided to fit such a ridiculously small bolt with a shallow head (about half the thickness of the head on a standard bolt) wants a kick up the arse
Anyway after borrowing some special sockets from a friend they are called IRWIN BOLT GRIPS reverse spiral flute design and without them I would have had to grind off the heads and drill them out
So the valance was now off and I proceeded to remove the motor which came off in about 15 minutes.
Stripping the motor wasnt difficult I just took out the three smal 6MM
pins to find the three bushes all boken up and in thousands of small pieces not unlike a couple of spoonfulls of brown sugar.
The plastic gear wasnt too bad but now I had the thing in pieces I decided to put the new metal gear in to complete the fix.
Then I put the small sachis of grease in and put the top back on the motor I didnt disturb the gasket so there was no point in scraping it off and fitting the new one .
After fitting it all back together HEY PRESTO the lights work the offside one appears to be a little stiff but I suppose thats the newness of the the gears and bushes
So to sum up If you are going to take on this fix make sure you have the necessary tools to undoe the valance bolts or else you will be in a pickle
I hope this is useful to someone out there
