disconnected battery for recharge recently and after reconnecting central locking decided to throw a wobble.. i'm thinking it might just be dodgy connections but where are the connectors?

The connections to the CDL modules, IIRC, are underneath the wing mirrors inside the door.
But, I can't see this being to do with them and tend to think that your alarm/immobiliser has been disturbed by the cut in power.

thanks sy, thought about that. alarm and immob fine.. should I disconnect then reconnect again?

Is the problem with all the central locking or just the remote? Does turning the key, or lifting the button, in either door effect the other lock. When I had a similar problem it was a bad connection in the drivers door.

ray,
remote works fine turning alarm on/off and red light flashes. pressing door button on either side does not effect the othe door ie. solenoids are not working. guess it's time to take a look inside the door for loose connections?

just a matter of interest, can the alarm be left on when the roof is down and doors locked or would movement outside trigger the alarm?

Pete,
The alarm can be used with the roof down, as there are no motion sensors fitted.

If neither of the door keys or the door buttons effect the other doors lock under any circumstances, I’d be surprised if the problem was inside the door. It would mean you had suddenly got two bad connections. I presume you have tried every permutation - locking both doors with the key and lifting the inner buttons and so on. If so you need to be looking for something common to both doors.

Pete, you need to take a look in the Lotus electrical manual

Section MJ.9 and circuit chart 20.

Both of these will help you in locating components and connectors etc and fault finding

thanks Ray and Paul, will get round to checking everything when the weather changes.. rather be out driving than scratching my head over wiring probs.. no sweat opening with key!! :-)
