spoke to a guy last week ex downton engineering ie janspeed/maniflow who reckons on 500 quid for a complete stainless two and a quater inch system saying two and a half could ruin ground clearance as it will not fit well and have also seen these on the bay

If you track down the original thread and get Dave Jones' contact details, then you can usually get an LEC discount, but only if you go to Dave direct.

Instead of finding out about another exhaust solution you could read the exhaust section. The conclusion is that the Peco (via Dave Jones for the LEC discount) is the best solution for an Elan stainless exhaust.

Lots of people have done the leg-work and quoting already so you don't have to. You also get £200 change from your quote to spend on beer!

as everyone else has said...its a peco
also you can talk to dave at peco and have the tail pipe changed if you dont like the pipe in pipe look.....
think your mate might be a bit off the mark with £500....
they all seem to be about the £300 mark at the moment (well past few years)...
I had mine done before the peco was available and I paid £275 for 2.25" custom fit by a race exhaust place......had I not the peco would be fitted to mine without doubt
go for it.....
IIRC they offered fitting for next to nowt to but I reckon it might be a bit of a trek for you
