Not sure whether I should have made this a new thread or have added it to:
Confirmation:S2s need a cat if first registered post 31/7/95 thread
or : PiperRS 2.25" or 2.5" Exhaust for all M100s thread
or even the: ESM Chips - Information & Help thread which I've recently sidetracked!
Grateful if Mods would put it where it should go.
I took the MOT decision tree pages from Paul's post along when I collected my car from SWLC today. Sure enough the test being applied at their local MOT shop to my car was the full cat test. Phil went back to the MOT station for me armed with the flow charts, and the new information is that since around April 2009 there has been a specific car match for the M100 on the tester's database - so that is the test that will now be applied to all Aug 1992 to July 1995 cars and NOT the default non-cat test. This law applies to any cars first used after 31 July 1992 so this new update may even mess up any late registered SEs. Obviously you may know of some testing station somehow operating their own idiosynchratic policies, but for most of us polling up to any old test centre, I believe that our cars will now need to comply with the CAT test standard.
