Exhaust back box loose

Postby J46_MAV » Fri 23.04.2010, 13:09

My exhaust back box (item 30 below) is flapping loose. It is an aftermarket stainless steel type (no idea what make) which previously had a strap around it which was connected to the standard support. This strap has been repaired a couple of times but has now failed completely.

Is this type of strap normally used for aftermarket exhausts? What have others got holding the back box up? Is my garage being feeble and should they be able to sort this out easily?

Any suggestions/help appreciated.

When mine failed I sweet-talked SJ sports into sending one separately. Not particularly cheap, mind.

Come to think of it I THINK I've a spare in the garage - do you want me to have a look?

Yes please, just in case it turns into an impossible task.

It sounds as though it should be simple and I'll see if I can get it sorted locally over the next few days. I'll have a good look tonight and see what exactly is missing.
