Piper PCE and Fed Elan

Postby ccb056 » Thu 23.08.2012, 01:38

Interested in replacing the stock rusted exhaust with something stainless and larger diameter to eliminate the turbo lag.

I see that Piper sells a 2.5" PCE: http://www.piperexhausts.co.uk/pipersto ... ts_id=4459

Any idea if this works on the Fed car? I have read in older threads that some PCEs don't fit because of AC.

Obviously will want to go all the way back at 2.5", expecting some boost creep and anticipate doing a wastegate port. Will put a Borla Turbo muffler at the end.

I have not seen a problem with the PCE and the air con.
Your in the states and I have a PCE on the shelf. I have gone to a custom down pipe.
I will check the exit size mine may be 2.25 not 2.50.
You will be pleased with this change :-D

Been reading a lot of old threads in the Exhaust and Turbo sections of the forums, it looks like Piper is in the process of making a new stiffy/downpipe that would also inlcude a PCE.

This is something that has been attempted in the past but has not worked with aircon cars due to dimensional constraints.

It also looks like Knox, a company stateside has also created and tested a similiar device, before the Piper development took place.

The friction in some of those threads was palpable.....
