A lot of the manifold is covered by one of the heat shields so its a lot simpler to remove the two visible heat shields than the manifold but if its coming off anyway...

No point starying a new thread. Does this VHT spray straight onto the heat shield ? Any primer involved ?

Also, would it be good to cover the rocker cover to ?

I painted mine before and I didn't use a primer.

Did mine 6 years ago - no primer, just cleaned up the metalwork as well as I could (off the car), and sprayed with Halfords Aluminium colour VHT paint - still looks okay to this day.

...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?
