Matt,

Sorry that no-one has replied to your question.

The 2¼" Peco exhaust has been a recent group buy for a bargain price of £250 and if you're quick, and talk to the Head of R&D, Dave Jones (0151 6476041), you may still be able to snap one up. The system is designed for the SE but fits the S2 at the expense of loosing the main cat but the car will still pass the MOT because of the pre-cat {and there are suggestions that even this is not needed as the S2 is classified as an SE for MOT emissions testing but that's another story}. When I put my Peco on, I found that my cat had already been emptied so there appears to be no doubt that it is MOT safe.

The loss of the main cat is a benefit, but the increased flow of the 2¼" vs 2" system gives improvements at the top end. You may experience boost creep (I have but it's not really a problem) where the boost creeps up after ~4-5 seconds. You can rectify this by opening out the wastegate or go for higher boost with a Mountain chip so the wastegate doesn't have to regulate so hard.

A few of us have experienced a high pitched whistle at 5000rpm+ which may be exhaust related.

Hope this has been of use but shout if you've got any more questions.

Geoff

PS As you've got an S2 and don't appear to be on the S2 register yet, could you drop Gazza a PM with you details? He'd be delighted to hear from you.
