I recently came across a thread which contained some info on exhaust manifold paint. I have tried doing a search, but can't seem to find it again.
I remember it was from an american source and cost about $9 for a small tub. It is painted on and it cures with the hot gases when you start the engine up.
Can anyone recall who it was that mentioned it?
Cheers, Paul

Check nitroman's link toward the bottom. Sounds like it works better than the manifold dressing I've used in the past (Calyx - brand name). That washed off after driving in the rain.
Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.

I'm going to be ordering some of this stuff. Is anyone interested in a group buy?
It's $9.99 per tub (plus shipping)
Cut off date 30/11/2006. Let me know by then.

Probably a stupid question but you are talking about the big lump of metal between the engine block and the turbo? Yes, I said it was a stupid question.
Mine's a nice brown colour at the moment so could do with sprucing (no idea when I might get round to doing it though!).
Count me in.

Dear Paul:
Eastwood makes and/or sells a variety of exhaust manifold coatings. I have had good luck with their caliper paints and pretty much everything else that I have bought from them. I have not used their exhaust manifold paints/coatings so I can't vouch for them. Here are appropriate links:

In short, knowledgeable people with really good products. Prices are pretty good as well.
Sincerely,
Algirdas

Ailwyn, Dave and Woody,
Just an update guys:
Items were dispatched on 4/12/06 with an expected 6 week delivery(overland and water due to it being classed as 'hazardous'). So, it should be here very soon.
Cheers, Paul

At long last, the package has arrived......only took 4 months!!
Dave and Woody, are you going to Donny this year?
If so, I will bring yours up with me.
If not, I can post it on. In which case, please PM me your address details.
Cheers, Paul

....obviously telling Royal Mail that the package contains hazardous material, and being the owner of a license to transport such stuff

Dave
Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it
...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

Paul,
I live pretty close to Woody.
Can't remember if he's going to Donington or not, but it would be easy for me to pass it on and save you some postage.
Striking fear into the hearts of duplicate posts everywhere...!
