Rear hub convention

Postby propshaft » Mon 29.04.2013, 17:38

It appears that I am too late to go on the group buy. I was wondering if anyone in the Nottingham area has one and I could take some accurat measurements and think about having a set machined up.

A convention on rear hubs in Nottingham, sounds awful, count me out! :bonk:

Very much too late. It doesn't appear this will ever happen again. There are a lot of mod on the forum that were relied upon to be provided by one member but they, and this in particular, are not that complex.

So we should get involved in trying to get rear hubs that take aftermarket discs machined. I believe Stef has a set coming off Blipi which I am about 3rd in line for.

I don't think it would be that hard to get somebody to do this for us. We just need to either get a piece to copy or get a hub that somebody can work the problem out on a second time. Anybody?

If there was a way I could safely take my car off its ramps, I would be able (If I AM able) to remove a hub and let it go elsewhere for approx 2-3 weeks - I am working hell for leather to try and get my Elan off ramps for the end of next week; working 6pm - 2am on normal work so the days are free and working in any conditions!!).

After that, I'll have another space where its on stands as I replace the suspension, wheels, brakes & wishbones; again approx 2-3 weeks. So I can possible provide a donor hub. Would obviously be better if we could get a spare given the time something like this might take. But I reckon if we started a group buy there is at least 12 people already wanting these.
