Protective film for headlights

Headlights on the Volvo have got UV damage and I've got a kit (Visbella) that supposedly will get them looking like new. Once done, I would like to put some protective film on them so i'm not doing the job again in 2 years time. Does anyone have any recommendations. It's got to be suitable for headlights (correct refractive index I understand). The Ebay stuff, albeit cheap from China, doesn't convince me that it's right.

Funnily enough Chris, Karen's VW has the same problem and whilst I was polishing my black M100 this morning I had an idea. I simply used my orbital polisher with a medium pad and some fine Menzerna cutting/finishing paste. The OSF came up a treat and looked like new. I couldn't believe how good it was so I left the other to show SWMBO. She was impressed too and gave me a pass out to the pub tonight as long as I do the NSF. Double result

Sorry, can't help with the protective film though but I don't think we'll need it. Only a 10 min job per headlamp cover. It's hard to get a really good image but.....

Trouble is Mark it's got no UV protection and will cloud up fairly quickly. You can get this liquid which you can apply which will give it a couple of years though.

Try looking on the Lotus Evora Owners Group page on Facebook. Lots of people there have had same issue and have used a coating after rubbing down with extremely fine emery. Mostly in USA though so may not help!

Did exactly that on my Evora due to the coating starting to flake.

I had a Passat and headlights were yellowing, very quick one stroke at a time wipe with LIDL thinner cleaned them up, as it melts off the decayed layer....but you need to be careful.
Incidentally my golf headlights are crystal clear , as using bulbs that are UV filtered

Here in Godzone the Integra light covers need cleaning every 2-3 months. It only takes 3-4 minutes to clean with the Meguiars product.

I haven't bothered trying to protect them otherwise.
