Car cover

Can anyone recommend a fitted outside car cover, specifically for the Elan. I am aware that companies like Classic Additions do ones which would fit (small, medium, large etc) but wonder if anyone know one that is custom made?

I recently bought a Richbrook tailored outdoor 3 layer cover. It arrived and although the quality was superb, the fit wasn’t ….. I contacted them with my disappointment and within a couple of days they had arranged for a courier to drop off a new cover and the poorly fitted one picked up.

The new fit is perfect …. Good length at the sides and ends, no flapping in the wind, correct aperture for the aerial and wing mirrors ….. I’m really pleased with it. And good value for money as I think I paid about £160 with a voucher code.

If you decide to order one speak to Dom as he will remember the issue I had and hopefully send you the correct one !

I bought the Stormforce all weather cover from CoverZone in January. £170 inc the locking kit (which I haven't used and probably won't) including delivery.
Fits perfectly.

After battling with a couple of shower caps and a larger car cover to keep things water tight - i've had enough of it all !!

I see the Storm force one advertised at £204 direct from the company (plus £10 delivery) apparently for the M100. I see it is the same price for an MX5 and SLK and other 2 seater cars. I see MX5Parts are advertising it at 157 quid (with free P&P)

I asked Car Cover if it was a bespoke cover for the M100 and they replied 'Some of our covers are cleverly designed to fit more than one car, which is true of the M100 cover.' - so clearly not made just for our cars.

So anybody bought a Storm Force one for the MX5 and find that it fits well ?

You could save just over 60 quid.....

Well i bought the one from MX5Parts - think it arrived in no more than 48hrs - and came straight from the Cover Zone depot.

Well it appears good quality and not a bad fit - not perfect, but not bad, tight around the arse end. As i said earlier i bought the one from MX5Parts as i believed it to be the same size as even the manufacturers said that their one for the M100 wasn't actually bespoke for the M100, their design covered more than one car.

It still does let some moisture in but it was an absolute deluge last night, don't think anything is going to be 100% waterproof unless its a big piece of plastic/tarpaulin but then not breathable in anyway.

Has a couple of straps underneath to secure it in windy conditions.

Probably the best we might find without getting something bespoke made.

I wondered which of the 2 Mazda MX5 covers you bought for MK1/Mk2/Mk3/MK3.5 etc or the MK4

I bought the Elan Monsoon one years ago and the lining is flaking off and leaves a right mess so going to go for Stormforce one this time.

I got the Storm Force Ultimate cover - just says for MX5 1989 onwards - might even get another 10 pounds off it

I recently bought my red cover on eBay. It was a red one and for indoor use primarily. It fits and stretches to encapsulate the M100's shape perfectly and comes with a bag. I like it that the cover's material is easily folded and then placed easily back into its bag and can be stowed quickly in the trunk. It has no straps etc and fits the M100's contours precisely.
