Ecu/Ecm wiring pin locations help please

Postby Delaneycatz » Sat 01.11.2025, 15:17

Good afternoon. I’m reaching out in the hope that a member can help with a wire that needs a location in the ECU wiring loom micro-pack connector. I am in the process of rearranging some cables that were moved from the original location pins to get the connections back to factory standard. In going over the cables to begin this process I have a cable that is not shown on the ECM connector identification service note EMK.4. The cable colour is brown and orange and is not shown as used by the ECM so suspect it was removed from a redundant pin location. Rather than leave it loose from the connector has anyone got a spare loom or the ability to check their connection plugs and let me know where this cable is in either the J1 or J2 connector.
Also, it looks like that at some point there may have been an earth connection on the ECM bracket. There is the remains of a hoop connector on the bracket bolt but no cable. It could well be that this was an aftermarket addition that was then removed at a later date.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Tuga
Yep pretty sure on the colour. It’s a real head scratcher. Cant find it on wiring diagram or the connector layout. Apart from the empty pin slots every other cable is present and correct. I have left it out for now and covered the pin just in case. I suspect it sits in one of the vacant ports.
