restarting my m100

Hi,
Parked up my Elan a few years ago due to family etc.
Want her running again now.
Hoped she would just start but nope.
Have done all the sensible stuff, new oil, plugs, fuel filter.
Removed the old alarm.
She turns over but doesn't fire (occasionally a little cough).
No lights on dashboard except fuel light (there is fuel).
Hazard lights and indicators don't work.
Cigarette lighter doesn't work
Got all the service manuals.
Just wondering if there is something simple I am missing.
