s2 alarm

hi,
i wonder if anyone can help...i changed the batteries in my key fob on a s2 elan fob has one red button and one grey its a gemini aquilla 5060t alarm...the red led lights up but the alarm does nothing, lucky i have a spare so the car is still drivable.
ive read somewhere there is a process you have to go through to re sync the fob...something to do with pressing the buttons on the fob in a certain order..? can anyone cast some light on this or new fobs..??

I've curently got my head in the electrical manual and neither in the SE or S2 alarm sections does it describe syncing or re-pairing the key/fobs... just pop battery out & fit new :-\
