engine starts then cuts out

hi, got a m100 here, ran perfect for ages left thew car for a couple of days go to get in it turn the key starts then within 15 seconds cuts out and fails to start again, if i leave the car for a while it does start again but then same happens again any clues ?? is this a common fault.

its a 91 1.6 turbo
