Hi all,
help needed, the car as just had a power steering pump fitted and ran fine for a couple of days after but, now when starting up the idle is very fast. It eventually slows down but still runs at a level far higher than it used to run. I don,t think any vacume pipes are off. Any help will be much appreciated.

I believe the Power steering pressure switch is used by the ECU, to control engine idle speed, so I would have a look at that. EMK 3 page 8 in the Lotus workshop manual.

Thanks for that Chris,
It was certainly worth a try, but I have now managed to locate and fix the problem. It was the earth wire from the injectors to the manifold just above the alternator,
The garage could,nt find the problem but alowed me to try to find it myself. It, I have to admit was pure luck, I pulled on the wire and the screw moved, I did,nt think it could be something as simple as this, but it was and after tightening everything is fine.
