Unfortunately my Elan has failed its MOT, not as bad a I expected though. The following faults:
- Offside rear caliper leaking (due to a valve)
- CV joint gaiter damaged
Anyone know if a universal gaiter kit will fit the Elan easy? As for the leaky valve, is it possible to get hold of a repair kit or a replacement valve or will I have to buy a new caliper?

A renault cv gaitor (pt no.8671002726 UV (Q) 1) is listed in the Wiki as a suitable replacement. Having recently fitted one I can confirm it does fit, however -
1) altho I did get the part from a renault dealer the one they supplied with that pt no. is, according to their parts dept, a universal boot under the motrio label and not a specific renault part. It didn't show up in stock where it should under an initial parts search but came to light unexpectedly with (last ditch) wider search.
2) being a universal part there are various options, out of the box the large diameter is too large but the second option (cut away first 12 mm or so - I did this after it was securely fitted) is a good fit and locates with the groove in the joint.
I'm happy with the result.
