Need some help again

Postby loti-lew » Mon 21.03.2022, 00:35

Ok, first thanks to the people who responded to my earlier posts. I think I have figured out the problem, but maybe not he fix or where someone might suggest I start looking for it. On the MAP sensor the ground and the 5 volt reference are shorted together. The short can be picked up on the INCA connector, but not on the engine sided of that connector so the short is somewhere between the INCA connector and the Engine Control Module. As i look at things, there is still the cable for the CO Potentiometer, but being it is a federal car, with a cat I think it is just left in the harness unused. I don't know if anyone has experienced anything like this. I had some major back surgery last August, and the LOTUS position under the dash isn't an easy one, but I'm determined to get the car back on the road. Looking for thoughts on where the most likely spot would be to start looking.

Thanks Lew

I do realize that one route is to try to run new wires, and solder/splice them to start replacing. I also that these wires are shared with other sensors. The Elan is a 1991, as I mentioned it is a Non-California car, with a Cat. Any thoughts, suggestions, etc are welcome.
