No spark or rpm reading after engine rebuild

Please can you help. I have just replaced the head gasket and timing belt etc and put engine back together but now i have no spark at all and worse than that , no rpm read out on the dash. Any ideas what has gone wrong? I am trying the wiring at present in case there is a break somewhere. Has anyone ever had a similar problem with their Elan? Any offers of advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Paul.

I'm guessing that it's all a bit quiet because there are so many things that you have to disturb when doing your head that it could be any of them.

One of the commonly missed ones is the 3 earth leads that bolt to the plenum chamber.

Other than that I'm afraid you're just going to have to remove the cambelt cover and check everything from the timing through to the electrical feeds. Sorry.

Well, both spark and rpm are CAS derived outputs. Have you thoroughly checked the CAS is firstly engaged and secondly electrically connected?
