Having decided to spend the day doing stuff to the car (not been used since Donny) i came accross a few issues.
When putting the car into service mode, should the revs rise up to 1500ish?
Firstly, i decided to set the timing up, no problem, except the CEL came on before i could do it (does that matter for setting the base timing????)
I set up at 16 deg, then found the codes 22 and 23 in the system.
From what i can gather, this is TPS voltage low and Manifold temp too low.
Further search of this site lead me to find out that the MAT sensor and the TPS sensor share a common ground wire - is this likely to be the problem, or if not, what else should i do?
Bear in mind that the TPS came off the car when the head was done, and has only been put back 'by eye' to where it was before.
Next thing i noticed, when i was checking that it was up to temp, i had a hand on the expansion bottle and by moving it about, it caused the car to increase revs or stall.
What's that all about? Loose wires at the coil or what?
Lastly, the boost guage still goes straight up to max deflection when the ignition is on. i have replaced the connectors on the green wire with new / clean ones - and moved the black wire to a good earth - what's next???
Before someone tells me to stick elanscan on it to see whats wrong, bear in mind that although i have a laptop and cable, it is as yet untested with the car, and i wouldn't know what buttons to press on the computer yet anyway (playing with that was another job for this weekend!).
