Sounds from behind

Hi,

Does somebody know which moving (rotating) parts are located behind the seats? A few weeks ago I started to hear sounds from behind which have to be generated from an electric motor or something that is constantly moving as soon as the engine is switched on.
A few days ago I had trouble to start the engine at all.
My guess would be the fuel pump but before changing it I want to make sure that there are no other reasons from this phenomenon.

The fuel pump is about all that is behind the seats.

However, before assuming the worst check that the contacts of the fuel inertia switch are ok and that all the relays are still plugged in (the one you want is just in front of the battery).

well I am not sure if you are describing a normal functioning of the fuel pump or not?!!

is IS SUPPOSED to come on and run when you turn the key to the run position to build fuel pressure, and then it will run while the engine is on too -- so the fuel pump running is normal ? ? ?
