Extra O-ring in the fuel rail?

Postby TorqueHorse » Tue 20.04.2021, 04:25

So when I took out and refitted the injectors the first time it was a real bear. I couldn't get the injector into the fuel rail deep enough for the metal clip to align into what looked like the slot on the injectors. Now that I have the whole rail off I can see there are O-rings stuffed up there, in addition to the O-rings around the top of the injectors. ???

When I take the ring out, the injector goes in to where the metal clip actually goes in the groove on the injectors.
Any idea why these would have been there? Just double checking this is a PO gaffe and not spec.

I don't recall ever seeing the second O-ring.
It has no seat either and if it is preventing the injectors to sit at correct depth....

Use the Lotus philosophy and add some more speed by lightness!
